In keeping with the latest research and the 2015 AAHA recommendations …our vaccination policy is as follows:
Adult dogs who have had their puppy vaccinations for DHPP and Rabies and at least one booster vaccination a year later, will then be considered current for 3 years at a time.
Puppies should be vaccinated for DHPP every 3-4 weeks from 8 weeks to 16 weeks of age and then boostered a year later. Puppies should have a rabies vaccination between 12 and 16 weeks of age and then a booster a year later.
We will no longer require annual DHPP boosters.
However, the Bordatella vaccination will only be considered current if it is within 12 months of the boarding stay.
Owner vaccinations will only be accepted if the owner can provide a dated receipt showing when and where the vaccine was purchased...we prefer veterinary records.
Any animal whose vaccination status cannot be verified, may be transported to a local veterinarian for vaccinations and all appropriate charges will be the responsibility of the owner.
Although we are not yet requiring vaccinations against Canine Influenza H3N8 and H3N2, we are recommending it. Please talk to your veterinarian about this disease and the vaccination protocol. At least 3 cases have been confirmed locally, 30 case in the Fresno area, and many in the Bay area.
